The 2nd Quarter Game Plan of Andrew Parkes

I worked out next to the Rock once at the gym. I think he was intimidated by me.
Yesterday, I shared with you my 1st Quarter Review – a synopsis of my life from Day 1 to Day 10,615. (Quick… how old does that make me?? If you guesed 11, that is incorrect.)
Today, let’s move to Quarter 2.
What do I want to accomplish in the next 10,000 days?
Well, I am glad you asked, Friend!
(This is the Coles Notes version – a complete Quarter 2 plan - one I put together with my clients – is 5-10 pages and I know you do not have the time in your busy schedule to go through the whole thing!)
Andrew’s Q2 Game Plan:
1. BRING THE GIFT OF 1-on-1 COACHING TO YOUNG PROFESSIONAL MEN (YPM) THROUGH A FOOTBALL METAPHOR
Use my gifts (asking powerful questions, listening, challenging, inspiring) and professional training to spread this message:
- Many YPM’s are extremely BUSY - working and playing hard - but feel that they are not living up to their full POTENTIAL.
- I help YPM’s take a TIME-OUT from the non-stop activity consuming him to focus on answering this question:
- ‘What if I viewed the way I ’played’ my life the same way a Pro Football Player goes about playing Football?’
From this foundation, we will generate 2 really cool documents:
- Q1 – YOUR STORY – What have been your Q1 highlights?
- Q2 – YOUR GAME PLAN – What is your Game Plan for Q2?
2. BECOME THE OPRAH of YPM’s
Oprah is widely recognized as a ‘Go-To’ person for women’s issues. I want to be the ‘Go-To’ person for information and resources on how YPM’s can live richer, fuller lives.
How? By writing about common problems/issues/questions that occur in the lives of young men and provide ideas to help solve these issues:
- Posting at least once per day on this Blog.
- My Weekly Man-Letter (like a Newsletter but way cooler) - a compilation of the top 5 web articles relevant to YPM’s, information on books I am reading, and a ‘Success Question’ to think and journal about each week. Contact me if you want to be added to my Man-Letter E-Mail list.
- Writing magazine articles, a book, and multiple E-Books on the application of Sports related principles to life. A subject many men can relate to.
3. LIVE A 100% FULLY ALIVE, ABUNDANT LIFE
OFF THE FIELD:
Thriving relationships with…
- God
- My wife, Beth
- Family
- Friends
Physical Training
- Compete in 2 major outdoor events per year. Here is an example of one I did earlier this month.
- Maintain 10% Body Fat
$
- Financial Independence (no mortgage debt) by age 35.
- Give away 50% of our household earnings by age 40. Beth… hope this is cool with you!!
Personal Growth
- Continue reading 1 book per week on personal development/success/finance.
- Continue to Meditate/Pray 1 time per day for 15 minutes.
- Attend a conference or seminar every month that focuses on improving my Coaching skills, issues especially relevant to young men, or other key growth areas (fitness, $, relationships.)
Fun
- Get a massage 1 time per week.
ON THE FIELD
Career – ‘Football’ and ‘Oprah’ above.
Environment
- Home – move to a location that is warm year round by age 35.
- Office – have my own office by age 35.
Man, I am so excited about seeing these things happen. The best part is that this is a Game Plan – it is not set in stone. If I need to adjust or change, I will.
Maybe some even bigger things are in store?
What about you? What’s the #1 priority on your list for the next 10,000 days? Put in the comments section below and declare that you are going after it!

Let me know what you will be doing in the next 10,000 Days… I am excited to see where you are going.
This is great Andrew. This is HOW to get this done. Write it, focus and celebrate. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Hope you are staying cool.
Thanks, David! I am finding that action is the best way to go after dreams.
